It’s Not About Size, It’s About Confidence

Let’s be clear: beauty doesn’t come in a single size. Confidence, sensuality, softness, strength—they all radiate from within, not from a clothing tag. Whether you're a size 2 or a size 22, your body tells a story that deserves to be celebrated.

Doing a boudoir shoot in just sheets strips everything back—literally and emotionally. No fancy lingerie, no distractions. Just you, your curves, your expressions, and your power. The sheets become a canvas, and you are the masterpiece!

The Ultimate Act of Self-Love

Boudoir is not about being perfect. It’s about owning who you are, right now, in this moment. For many women, especially those who have spent years battling unrealistic beauty standards, stepping in front of the camera can feel revolutionary.

But here’s the truth: your softness is beautiful. Your stretch marks are proof of your journey. Your curves are divine. Wrapping yourself in sheets is symbolic—you are allowed to be comfortable, sensual, and celebrated, all at once.

A Bold Statement: ‘Enough is Enough’

There’s a reason why “just sheets” is one of our most highly sought-after boudoir looks. It’s effortlessly sexy, but more importantly—it’s you, unfiltered. The focus isn’t on matching lace or sculpted shapewear. It’s on the way your eyes smolder, how your smile teases the corner of your lips, and how the sheets cling in just the right way.

For plus-size women who’ve ever felt like they’re supposed to cover up, minimize, or hide—this is a bold statement. Enough is enough. You are not too much. You don’t need to be less of anything. You are enough exactly as you are.

A Reminder That You Deserve to Take Up Space

We live in a world that often tries to shrink women—literally and figuratively. But boudoir, especially in sheets, is an unapologetic reminder that you are allowed to take up space. To drape across a bed like the queen you are. To look at your own image and think, “Damn. That’s me.

There’s healing in that. There’s liberation in that. And there’s joy in finally seeing yourself without the filter of judgment.

The Confidence Boost You Didn’t Know You Needed

Most women leave their boudoir shoot glowing—not because the camera “fixed” them, but because they saw themselves through a new lens. The experience is less about photos and more about transformation. It’s walking in nervous and leaving empowered.

And when you see those images? You realize that you’ve been beautiful all along. That your softness is sensual. That your laughter is sexy. That your body, in all its glory, is worthy of being seen.

Whether you’re celebrating a milestone, healing after heartbreak, or simply tired of waiting for the “perfect” moment—do the damn shoot. Wrap yourself in those sheets, let the camera capture your fire, and reclaim the narrative about what it means to be beautiful.

You don’t need permission.
You don’t need to lose weight.
You don’t need to be anyone else.

You just need you—exactly as you are.

So go ahead. Put “boudoir shoot in sheets” on your self-love list.

Because your story, your beauty, and your strength deserve to be captured — and you, babe, are worth it!

What to Wear: Natural Boudoir

For boudoir photos that look and feel natural, less is more. A simple teddy or bra and panty set is all you’ll need to create this look. Focus on what fits well, hugs your curves, and feels most comfortable. For this look, subtle textures like lace, and floral work well. Neurals, earthy tones, or pastel colors like baby blue, and blush are ideal.

What To Wear: Comfy Boudoir

If lingerie isn’t really your thing, or you just love the idea of doing a boudoir session in something other than lingerie. This outfit idea feels cozy but also looks super cute, and should definitely be on your list of things to consider! Think over the shoulder sweaters, and t-shirts. You can transform any basic cheeky panties and bra to something cozy and flirty by layering your outfit with a cardigan or robe!

What To Wear: Glamorous Boudoir

Wearing something glamorous can truly elevate the experience. Whether it's a satin slip dress, full lingerie set with garter belt, stockings, and heels or something even more racy like a strappy bodysuit an outfit that makes you feel confident, strong, and sexy can go a long way. Opt for fabrics that flatter your figure and colors that complement your skin tone and overall vibe of your vision. Example given — for rich and moody think jeweled tones, for chic magazine style images try something black with gold, or rose gold details.

What To Wear: His Shirt / Themed Boudoir

Wearing something themed for your boudoir session can bring versatility and can be fun way to add more of your own personality to your boudoir photos. Don’t be afraid to incorporate light props (e.g. baseball caps, footballs, books, guitars, jersey), though its always a good idea to let the photographer know in advance if this is something that you’d like to do.

What To Wear: Bridal Boudoir

Bridal boudoir photos can be done in any boudoir outfit, but this is a special and intimate occasion so most woman will want to include something bridal in their boudoir photos. There are a few ways you can achieve this look just remember — This look can be elegant and sophisticated, or seductive and sensual. Its entirely up to you! The first and most common is to wear white, traditional bridal lingerie. Lace robes, silk gowns, anything sheer, even wearing nothing more than your engagement ring are all great choices, too! To elevate this look I recommend bringing in something sentimental, or something that will be a part of your wedding like your “something blue”, your engagement ring, your wedding shoes, veil etc. Another option is to introduce a sexy accessory like a wedding garter!

These boudoir outfit ideas are just a few of many to get you started! We never expect our clients to book their shoot with everything already figured out. As your boudoir photographer, I can work with you one on one during your consultation to help you figure out what to wear. Whether that’s needing help with ideas, knowing what to bring, not bring, or finding something that works best for your body type, you do not have to figure it out alone.

At the end of the day this is all about helping you look and feel your most confident. If that means going full glam, keeping it casual (or both) I want to encourage you to be yourself, wear what makes YOU feel beautiful, and have fun with it!
