It was time.

I have always been a work in progress. I mean who isn't right? I chose to do these pictures for myself. It's about damn time I start choosing myself :)

Many women have fears and concerns when deciding to do a boudoir photoshoot. If you’re worried having your boudoir photos taken will be awkward I want to assure you — doing a boudoir shoot is not awkward. That’s just not true. With the right fit photographer, and a private, safe, and positive environment, doing a boudoir session is a lot of fun! Moreover, it will be an empowering and liberating experience you won’t regret!

After my sessions, most women tell me they can’t believe they took so long to book it, and that every woman should get a chance to experience this at least once in their lifetime. Sometimes those clients even come back! Once they know what to expect, they have an easier time letting their guard down and get to experience it all over again in a new way!

All that being said, unfortunately, the thought of getting boudoir photos being awkward can result in some women never getting to experience this at all. Ultimately, missing out on all of the benefits a boudoir session!

Which is the reason I wanted to write this. For that, it’s not unusual for our clients to open up to us with some pretty intimate details about their lives. I think that comes naturally when you feel fully supported by other women who really want to see you shine! And I’m here for it. Because stripping down to lingerie, and trusting me to capture the most beautiful portraits of themselves they’ve ever seen is kind of a big deal! I want to be the person for you that supports you, that makes you feel welcome, that guides you through the entire process, and helps you fall back in love with yourself!

As a boudoir photographer I have photographed hundreds of women over the years. Due to the nature of boudoir often times those women are faced with the challenge of leaning into vulnerability so that they can begin to change the way they see themselves. As you look at our boudoir photos I want you to admire these women. They are gorgeous! But I also want you to realize that you can do this too! Don’t disqualify yourself. You are probably a lot more like our previous boudoir clients than you might think.

Full transparency — For most it took them a bit of courage to do the shoot. I don’t blame them.

Regardless of what you do or don’t love about your body, we all come with some insecurities. Which for a lot of women makes getting in front of a camera kind of intimidating. Couple that with the idea of slipping into your skivvies for boudoir pictures. Well, yeah that can make having your photos taken feel even more vulnerable. It is also incredibly uplifting, because the more we step out of our comfort zone the more we can begin to see just how capable we as women are.

Yes. I'm kind of known for country themed shoots - guilty as charged. I am quick to blame it on my Michigan roots and though I've tried to convert to city life, I still geek out whenever someone even whispers the idea of adding a little country chic to their sesh.

Her entire boudoir shoot felt more like hanging with your best girl friends. 

Lori Udrija hooked it up with hair and make-up while we put together a few outfits that added some personal style and threw on some girl-country to set the mood. A little over the top some might say. But lets be honest - girls just want to have fun, am I right? 

I wasn't sure if Christina would be as bubbly as she was during our consultation because she would be taking photos and concentrating. The shoot was much better than I anticipated. Christina is great at making people feel comfortable. She is always happy and smiling which really helps ease your worries away!

Like most women, Nicole was a bit nervous going into this session.

This was not her very first boudoir session but things had changed since her last love affair with the camera and Nicole, a first time mom, admitted to still getting comfortable with her new figure and wasn't sure if she could appear sexy. Never the less, I was so excited and honored to be photographing her during this new stage of her life and I'd say these photos are proof that she conquered her demons like a seasoned Rockstar!
