This boudoir client interview with Miss A. is the reason I think sharing is so important! For that, I am forever grateful to be able to spotlight her experience!

In her interview, she reveals having a lot of questions at first. She talks about reading and seeing other everyday women doing it. It didn’t matter what shape or size they were. They were doing it and walking away feeling really good about themselves. That’s what helped her finally do it for herself! Miss D. coming into our boudoir studio bringing all of the energy was such a breath of fresh air. Her confidence and body positivity entirely blew me away! After spending time working on her self image, over time she was able to get to a place of compassion, love, and appreciation for her body. We love that! Doing a boudoir session was something she wanted to do for herself as a way to honor her body, and celebrate her self love journey!

Her boudoir session took place at one of our very own boudoir studios here in Old Town Scottsdale, The Grey Room. From spunky and sassy, to sultry, and sexy, her moody boudoir photos reveal all of the beautiful parts of her that now exude confidence!

Miss T. Celebrates turning 50 with Her Very Own Boudoir Photo Shoot at Bella Jade Boudoir in Scottsdale Arizona | After The Session Interview

To celebrate her 50th birthday Miss T. decided to book a boudoir session with us at Bella Jade Boudoir in Scottsdale. This was something she knew would have to be on her bucket list no matter how scary it seemed — She would later find that doing this session had in fact made a positive impact on her self esteem and gave her a huge sense of pride. Looking back at these photos is now something she finds encouraging, empowering, and uses it as a reminder for herself that we are capable of amazing things if we can set aside what we’re afraid of, believe in ourselves, and are willing to step outside of our comfort zones.

For her boudoir session Miss T. booked The Grey Room in Scottsdale and wore a variety of outfits from sweet, subtlety seductive to something more ris·qué including topless with a white button down shirt. In her after the session interview she talks about how her most nerve wracking outfit ended up being in one of her favorite pics.

She says “Words can not express the amazing experience I had. Turning 50 at the end of 2022 and being body shamed since I was 12 this was something I have wanted to do for years but was so afraid to. Made it a bucket list item and signed up. I did my research on other photographers but following Christina on social media I got the feeling she truly cared and understood that not all women are built the same and we have our insecurities. I was right the moment I walked in the door the day of the shoot I felt like I was hanging out with old friends just catching up and having a great time. Then when I saw the completed pics all my previous worries went away and I am completely proud of myself for doing this. I wish I could say that doing a boudoir session is an easy YES for everyone, because I wholeheartedly believe in boudoir and what it can do for you. Though — the truth is that it is not uncommon for women to put off doing a shoot like this.

Not only can it be incredibly intimidating at first, but it takes courage to confront your own doubts and body insecurities. For some a boudoir session can challenge the way they see themselves. While that journey can empower confidence it isn’t always easy to show up all in, right away.

This was Miss M’s very first boudoir photo shoot. Like a lot of our clients she had a little bit of fear going into this but she had wanted to do a boudoir shoot for a long time. And, for Miss M. she was hopeful that doing something like this would bring her confidence back and allow her the space she needed to appreciate where she is right now, all in.

After her boudoir session with us in our second studio, The Grey Room, we asked her to share her experience with us. She shares what it was like for her along with an insider tip for anyone planning their own boudoir session.

Miss D. admits she had some inhibitions going into this. She knew that she had wanted to do her very own boudoir photo shoot for a while. As a women in her 60’s in a body that looks different from medias perception of perfection it took a bit of courage to pull the trigger. And, honestly she is not alone in feeling the pressure to meet certain standards before booking a shoot like this. But for her — doing this NOW was the absolute right time!

Listen, there is no pre-requisite to learning to love yourself other than the desire to want to! As far as I am concerned, at Bella Jade, boudoir is about loving who your are in the body that you’re in right now, then

— having those images and re-visiting that feeling every time you look back on your boudoir photos!

I am so glad that Miss D refused to let her inhibitions hold her back, but rather allowed the inner critic to motivate her to be better at loving her body! She talked back, and I love that!

After her session at our main studio we asked to interview her about her Scottsdale boudoir photography experience. She said YES. She too, wanted other women to feel empowered to celebrate their bodies at any age so that they can see for themselves just how beautiful they really are. Her boudoir interview goes to show that numbers do not define us and we are ALWAYS worthy of self love.

She says “In the days of self love, this is one of the best things you can do for yourself.”

Honestly, before and after photos only skim the surface of the transformation that happens when you do a boudoir shoot at Bella Jade.

Think of it this way. The women we work with typically have never done anything like this before nor are models trained and experienced with being photographed in this way. What inspired you to pursue a Scottsdale boudoir session?

My first thought was for my husband's 50th birthday. I wanted to give him something he would never forget and something completely out of the usual. After booking and in anticipation of the shoot, I realized I was doing this for me. I have had self-image issues as many of us do, and I wanted to show myself my body is my own and damn sexy. I also wanted to prove to myself I could do something like this. I am so glad I made the move to do this.

Miss M. had been in our VIP group for over a year. She was recommended by someone who's done two shoots with us. She's wanted to do a shoot like this for a while and needed to build up the courage to go for it. Well — She won our Giveaway in February and was met head on by some of her fears. A new season in her life that was filled with uncertainty but unapologetic love for herself and her body. She embraced it. As it provided her relief that sometimes doing the best we can do really is enough. Her session and time with us was so beautiful as is she.
