This summer I had the joy of welcoming back a returning boudoir client who first came to me a little less than year ago for her first boudoir photo shoot. Back then, she was still finding her footing stepping into her confidence—gorgeous, yes, but slightly hesitant, unsure if she was “doing it right.” (Spoiler: she was.) This time, though? She walked into the studio with an unshakable presence. No nerves. No questions. Just excited and ready to try a new look and have some fun with it!

This time, no lingerie needed. Just white sheets—and one unique prop : a grapefruit.

It’s sensual, fresh, and a little wild— the epidemy of raw, sensual, feminine energy. Yes, we were in for something special and the photos turned out even better than I had imagined!

We started with the sheets. The kind of look that feels like a Sunday morning spent in bed, when the light hits just right and everything feels indulgent. No lingerie, no accessories—just her, draping fabric hugging her curves, and shadows that told the story of purity and innocence.

Then came the grapefruit.

Sliced in half, it brought an unexpected pop of color and texture. She held it delicately at first, then playfully—dripping juice onto her skin, biting into it with abandon. It was sticky and sweet and completely unfiltered. And it worked. The juxtaposition of the soft white sheets and the bold, juicy fruit created a visual metaphor for who she is right now: soft but strong, daring but grounded. A woman who no longer tiptoes around her own beauty.

This shoot wasn’t about perfection. It was about freedom. The freedom to explore, to laugh, to feel sexy in your skin with nothing but a bedsheet and a grapefruit in hand.

To my returning muse—thank you. Thank you for trusting me again, for embracing the wild parts of yourself, and for reminding us all the power of vulnerability and self exploration. One that gets juicier every time you say yes to yourself.

What inspired you to pursue a Scottsdale boudoir photography session?

I get all the promotional emails and my significant other's birthday was coming up. I wanted to do something special for him for his birthday.

Why did you choose Bella Jade Boudoir for your boudoir photos?

This was my second photo shoot. I had so much fun the first time! I had to so much fun! I had to do another one!

Do you consider yourself a confident person or more of a work in progress. Did this experience change the way you see yourself?

I felt way more confident this time around. Christina makes you feel so at ease. It is impossible not to feel confident when you are working with her!

Did you have any fears going into this? Were you able to overcome them? Anything you wish you would have done differently?

Not really. This was a "tease me" white sheet photo shoot. So, the outfit choice is really easy. You are wearing a thong and you have a sheet covering you. I felt really comfortable and because it was my second time it was so much more fun!

What was your favorite part about your boudoir experience?

My favorite part was the props that we used. Christina had asked on FB in the VIP Boudoir Group if anyone with a upcoming photo shoot would mind if she incorporated grapefruit into the shoot. I thought it sounded fun and unique so I told her I would do it. I think this made my pictures unique. There will be other " tease me" photo shoots but not with a grapefruit incorporated. I like that makes mine different.

Do you have any advice for someone considering their own boudoir photoshoot?

Like the Nike slogan says " JUST DO IT!" I had been putting this off for so many years. If you are having any reservations about it, just do it! You will never regret it! Plus, Heidi, will make you look amAZing!! Her make up and her hair!! She made me feel so beautiful.

I can't even believe it took me this long to share this gorgeous woman's boudoir shoot with you all.

Miss K walked in excited and energetic. She had that I trust you and I am ready to bring it kind of vibe. Her positivity and confidence was oozing before we even began shooting and I cant say enough how beautiful that is! Truthfully, no matter what your size is or any perceived imperfections you may have, if you put your trust in your boudoir photographer, and arrive prepared and open-minded - you may surprise yourself!

I strongly believe that part of being a great boudoir photographer is understanding how women see themselves. Not women in general - but each woman as an individual person. That requires a level of honesty and trust from both of us - that for many can be a pretty vulnerable state. If the thought of talking about your not so perfect bits raises your fear flag, hear me out.

I want to get to know you. Before every session I try to discover what it is you love about yourself and what it is you are not so excited about. If we are being real - some have scratched their head to this idea but I believe it is an important part of becoming the best version of yourself you can be. And - that is what I want to capture during our time together.

I'm sure, you and I both know that there is always going to be something about your body you don't absolutely love. Am I right? My goal is not to magically make that disappear but to encourage you to just plain be OK with it.

Why? Because, whether you consider yourself to be a plus-sized woman, curvy girl, (any other of those terms we try so hard to avoid) or feel just right the truth is that all of that physical stuff becomes much less important when you are focused on self love.

I just had to feature this session so you can see what I mean. Seriously, when you bring the kind of energy to your boudoir shoot that Miss K did I can promise you will be ecstatic with how great you are going to look and feel! 

Miss K chose to keep things simple for her glamour shoot with a white sheet boudoir session at our natural light photography studio in Phoenix Historic District - aiming to celebrate her sexy so that we could capture her looking and feeling her most confident. 

This entire session is the epitome of what I believe fine art boudoir photography should be about.
