Miss M came to Arizona for a girls’ weekend in Old Town Scottsdale. But she packed more than just bathing suits and sunscreen; she brought lingerie and the courage to say yes to herself for an empowering boudoir photoshoot! This wasn’t just a vacation — it was an opportunity to nurture her relationship with a long-time friend and reconnect with herself on a level she hadn’t had a chance to for a while. She told me that booking boudoir shoots was a must for the girls this trip! And, choosing the right place to do it was incredibly important to her and her best friend. It would mean more than just pictures. It would be a moment to step out of their comfort zone, reclaim their confidence, and celebrate themselves!

Boudoir photography has become increasingly popular over the years. Although a lot of my clients still prefer to have their photos remain private, the idea of doing a boudoir session is much less taboo than it was when I began my journey as a boudoir photographer. It’s not so much a secret anymore. You’ve likely heard of it. Most have. And, chances are if you’ve heard of it — you’re intrigued. Perhaps even reading this now in a ‘search for a boudoir photographer near me’.

Since most of my clients have been where you are now … intrigued, excited, a little unsure, possibly even scared — many are gracious and excited when I ask them to share their testimonials for the boudoir blog. They want to share their experience with others, especially if it helps them choose the right photographer, feel more comfortable, and have the experience that will truly empower them to love themselves more and feel more confident in their own skin.

This was definitely the case with Miss A. She wanted to be a part of encouraging other women to do this for themselves, even if they are scared at first. After her session we asked her a few questions to see what it was like for her!

Feeling nervous about doing a boudoir session is not uncommon. On one hand, it's recognized as an empowering experience, offering a chance for self-discovery, embracing one's sensuality, and boosting confidence. On the other hand, it can be intimidating not knowing exactly what to expect or how to pose for boudoir pictures, as well push you to venture beyond your comfort zone.

For a lot of our boudoir clients going into it was a little nerve wracking at first but they’ve left feeling like it was entirely worth taking the leap, stepping out of their comfort zone and experiencing a boudoir photo shoot for themselves!

For that, we love interviewing our boudoir clients after their boudoir session with us, and sharing that with women similar to them who want to do something like this! Recently, we interviewed Miss T. about her personal experience.

The thing is that our clients are not all models. They’ve typically never even been in a professional photography setting or posed in such a vulnerable and intimate way.

Regardless of whether they choose to do a boudoir session as a gift to their significant other or for themselves, most desire to realize their beauty through this experience and feel more confident in their own skin when they look back at their boudoir photos.

It takes courage to be vulnerable. And we know that these women choose our boudoir team for a reason

— to help them feel seen and supported no matter where they are currently in their self love journey.

For that, it is important that our space and approach invites them to feel at ease, comfortable, and free to be themselves.
