What to Wear for Rich and Moody Boudoir Photos

So, you did it! You’ve finally decided to do this crazy boudoir thing. Likely you’re sitting somewhere between nervous and excited — maybe you still have a few questions, but for the most part you can not wait to get in the studio, unleash your sexy, and step into your more confident self! Usually, the first question my boudoir clients ask when booking their Scottsdale boudoir shoot is “what should I wear".

There are a lot of things to consider when it comes to outfit options like —

body type, what you hope to highlight or de-emphasize, your personal style, what will look good on camera, what compliments your hair/eyes/skin tone, where the photoshoot is taking place (whether it be in our main studio or in The Grey Room), and what look and feel inspires you! It can seem overwhelming at first, but you’re in the right place because we specialize in boudoir photography, want you to feel great, and are here to help simplify things for you. We talk in detail on what to wear for your boudoir shoot during your pre-shoot styling & wardrobe consultation (included when you book a Bella Jade Boudoir session). And honestly, most women find planning their boudoir session to be fun, exciting, and liberating. It’s a chance to express yourself, play dress up as an adult ( which is better because you have much better taste now, I’m sure😊!) , and explore your more sensual side. If this is you, I recommend to begin playing with ideas before your consultation, then finalizing your outfits later!

In this post I share tips that will be especially useful for those who’ve chosen to do their boudoir shoot in The Bella Jade Collection’s Signature Grey Room.

I break them down into three simple sections — style, color, and texture. These boudoir outfit tips can give your boudoir photos a luxurious edge and capture the highly sought after rich and moody feel that is offered in our second studio, The Grey Room, located in Old Town Scottsdale, Arizona

If you haven’t seen this space yet or are still deciding which set/studio to choose for your very own boudoir shoot you can tour the studios here before your session.
