Why Every Woman—Yes, Every Size—Deserves a Scottsdale Boudoir Photoshoot in Just Sheets
There’s something timeless, raw, and incredibly liberating about a boudoir photoshoot in nothing but soft, flowing sheets. If you’re brave enough to try it this will be one of the most empowering and transformative moments you’ll ever experience as a woman! Because boudoir photography isn’t just about looking sexy—it’s about feeling powerful, worthy, and deeply beautiful in your own skin. The more you step out of your comfort zone, the more confident you’ll become. And that’s exactly why every woman, especially plus-size women, should have a boudoir shoot in sheets on her self love list.
It’s Not About Size, It’s About Confidence
Let’s be clear: beauty doesn’t come in a single size. Confidence, sensuality, softness, strength—they all radiate from within, not from a clothing tag. Whether you're a size 2 or a size 22, your body tells a story that deserves to be celebrated.
Doing a boudoir shoot in just sheets strips everything back—literally and emotionally. No fancy lingerie, no distractions. Just you, your curves, your expressions, and your power. The sheets become a canvas, and you are the masterpiece!
The Ultimate Act of Self-Love
Boudoir is not about being perfect. It’s about owning who you are, right now, in this moment. For many women, especially those who have spent years battling unrealistic beauty standards, stepping in front of the camera can feel revolutionary.
But here’s the truth: your softness is beautiful. Your stretch marks are proof of your journey. Your curves are divine. Wrapping yourself in sheets is symbolic—you are allowed to be comfortable, sensual, and celebrated, all at once.
A Bold Statement: ‘Enough is Enough’
There’s a reason why “just sheets” is one of our most highly sought-after boudoir looks. It’s effortlessly sexy, but more importantly—it’s you, unfiltered. The focus isn’t on matching lace or sculpted shapewear. It’s on the way your eyes smolder, how your smile teases the corner of your lips, and how the sheets cling in just the right way.
For plus-size women who’ve ever felt like they’re supposed to cover up, minimize, or hide—this is a bold statement. Enough is enough. You are not too much. You don’t need to be less of anything. You are enough exactly as you are.
A Reminder That You Deserve to Take Up Space
We live in a world that often tries to shrink women—literally and figuratively. But boudoir, especially in sheets, is an unapologetic reminder that you are allowed to take up space. To drape across a bed like the queen you are. To look at your own image and think, “Damn. That’s me.”
There’s healing in that. There’s liberation in that. And there’s joy in finally seeing yourself without the filter of judgment.
The Confidence Boost You Didn’t Know You Needed
Most women leave their boudoir shoot glowing—not because the camera “fixed” them, but because they saw themselves through a new lens. The experience is less about photos and more about transformation. It’s walking in nervous and leaving empowered.
And when you see those images? You realize that you’ve been beautiful all along. That your softness is sensual. That your laughter is sexy. That your body, in all its glory, is worthy of being seen.
Whether you’re celebrating a milestone, healing after heartbreak, or simply tired of waiting for the “perfect” moment—do the damn shoot. Wrap yourself in those sheets, let the camera capture your fire, and reclaim the narrative about what it means to be beautiful.
You don’t need permission.
You don’t need to lose weight.
You don’t need to be anyone else.
You just need you—exactly as you are.
So go ahead. Put “boudoir shoot in sheets” on your self-love list.
Because your story, your beauty, and your strength deserve to be captured — and you, babe, are worth it!

What Is a White Sheet Boudoir Photoshoot?
A white sheet boudoir photoshoot is exactly what it sounds like: a sensual, artful photography session where the subject (that’s you!) is draped in soft, flowing white sheets—often with little to no other clothing. Think of it as modern-day goddess meets classic Hollywood glamour. The simplicity of the white sheet becomes a canvas for showcasing your curves, renewed confidence!
The sheet provides just enough coverage to maintain mystery, yet allows freedom to be playful, sultry, or sensual. The results are often soft, dreamy, and intensely powerful.
Why You Should Do One
1. It's Empowering
There’s something deeply transformative about seeing yourself captured in a way that highlights your strength, vulnerability, and sensuality all at once. A white sheet shoot strips things down—literally and metaphorically—so the focus is purely on you.
2. It’s Timeless and Versatile
Unlike other themed shoots that might date over time, white sheet sessions are classically styled and will remain timeless. They’re perfect for gifting to a partner—or just keeping for yourself as a celebration of who you are, who you’re becoming, and how you show love to yourself.
3. It’s Great for All Body Types
Whether you’re curvy, petite, athletic, or anything in between, white sheets can be styled in endless ways to flatter your unique body type. As your boudoir photographer I will guide you through poses and strategically position the sheet to highlight your favorite features and help you feel at ease. How little or how much you want to reveal with the sheets is entirely up to you!
4. It Requires Little to No Wardrobe Planning
No stressing over what lingerie to buy or whether it fits right. With a white sheet shoot, less is truly more.
What to Wear or Bring to a White Sheet Boudoir Shoot
Loose fitting clothing for getting your hair and make up done.
Wear this to the studio to avoid tight clothing lines on your skin.
Nude colored underwear.
A nude thong or seamless panties are great for coverage that won’t distract from the sheet's clean look.
Optional lingerie
If you'd like to add variety, bring one simple bra and panty set as a warm-up look before transitioning to just sheets.

Whether you’re marking a milestone, reclaiming your confidence, or simply trying something bold and beautiful, a white sheet boudoir shoot is a gift to yourself that will last a lifetime.

ideas to inspire Your fall boudoir photography session:
The first thing most women think of when planning their boudoir session is finding lingerie. What’s fun about doing a fall boudoir photo shoot is that you get to play with many different looks!
Here are just a few ways you can embrace the changing of the seasons with a fall boudoir session!
The best way to spice up your boudoir wardrobe for fall is to incorporate layers by using pieces like oversized sweaters, flannels, and knit socks. This will transform your images so that they inspire a warm and cozy feel that’s perfect for fall weather!
You can also experiment with different textures from velvet lingerie pieces to added elements such as fur blankets, and flowy curtains that speak to those crisp autumn vibes we look forward to!
For fall sessions now is the time to enjoy the colors of the season with greys, neutrals, and traditional warm tones like caramel and copper. I also encourage vintage colors like sage and dusty rose! For a more vibrant or moody fall feel play with rich jewel tones like burgundy, emerald, and navy — maybe even a pop of gold instead of dusty rose!
And, don’t be afraid to get creative —
Consider bringing a prop like a coffee/cocoa mug to create a more cozy and intimate vibe. We’ve even seen boudoir clients take advantage of spooky season or include accessories like brim hats, and football jerseys!
The possibilities are endless! And, I can not wait to see what you come up with it! Ready to begin planning your very own fall boudoir photo shoot? Contact your Scottsdale Boudoir Photographer here for more information or click here to book your boudoir session now!

What to Wear: Natural Boudoir
For boudoir photos that look and feel natural, less is more. A simple teddy or bra and panty set is all you’ll need to create this look. Focus on what fits well, hugs your curves, and feels most comfortable. For this look, subtle textures like lace, and floral work well. Neurals, earthy tones, or pastel colors like baby blue, and blush are ideal.
What To Wear: Comfy Boudoir
If lingerie isn’t really your thing, or you just love the idea of doing a boudoir session in something other than lingerie. This outfit idea feels cozy but also looks super cute, and should definitely be on your list of things to consider! Think over the shoulder sweaters, and t-shirts. You can transform any basic cheeky panties and bra to something cozy and flirty by layering your outfit with a cardigan or robe!
What To Wear: Glamorous Boudoir
Wearing something glamorous can truly elevate the experience. Whether it's a satin slip dress, full lingerie set with garter belt, stockings, and heels or something even more racy like a strappy bodysuit an outfit that makes you feel confident, strong, and sexy can go a long way. Opt for fabrics that flatter your figure and colors that complement your skin tone and overall vibe of your vision. Example given — for rich and moody think jeweled tones, for chic magazine style images try something black with gold, or rose gold details.
What To Wear: His Shirt / Themed Boudoir
Wearing something themed for your boudoir session can bring versatility and can be fun way to add more of your own personality to your boudoir photos. Don’t be afraid to incorporate light props (e.g. baseball caps, footballs, books, guitars, jersey), though its always a good idea to let the photographer know in advance if this is something that you’d like to do.
What To Wear: Bridal Boudoir
Bridal boudoir photos can be done in any boudoir outfit, but this is a special and intimate occasion so most woman will want to include something bridal in their boudoir photos. There are a few ways you can achieve this look just remember — This look can be elegant and sophisticated, or seductive and sensual. Its entirely up to you! The first and most common is to wear white, traditional bridal lingerie. Lace robes, silk gowns, anything sheer, even wearing nothing more than your engagement ring are all great choices, too! To elevate this look I recommend bringing in something sentimental, or something that will be a part of your wedding like your “something blue”, your engagement ring, your wedding shoes, veil etc. Another option is to introduce a sexy accessory like a wedding garter!
These boudoir outfit ideas are just a few of many to get you started! We never expect our clients to book their shoot with everything already figured out. As your boudoir photographer, I can work with you one on one during your consultation to help you figure out what to wear. Whether that’s needing help with ideas, knowing what to bring, not bring, or finding something that works best for your body type, you do not have to figure it out alone.
At the end of the day this is all about helping you look and feel your most confident. If that means going full glam, keeping it casual (or both) I want to encourage you to be yourself, wear what makes YOU feel beautiful, and have fun with it!

Just as Sexy Boudoir Outfits that Conceal Your Tummy
Lace Body Suit
When in doubt a classic lace body suit can usually do the trick! They are typically easy to find and form to fit your figure not the other way around.
Sweater
Sweaters are an especially great choice if wearing lingerie is extremely outside of your comfort zone. It offers comfort, covers the belly, and can be just as sexy when paired with cheekier panties. You can show as little or as much skin as you want with this look! Its classy, flirty, and leaves just enough to the imagination to be incredibly captivating.
Lined Teddy
Similar in style to the bodysuit, so much so that the term is often used interchangeably. The teddy speaks more to what most of us think of when we hear “lingerie”. Teddies that are lined offer more support than lace bodysuits. Pro tip: If you have a larger bust I’d suggest choosing a Teddy that offers specific cup sizes to ensure that its a good fit!
Garter Belts
Already found a lingerie bra and panty set you love, but its just not quite there yet? Using garter belts is the quickest way to spice up your boudoir outfit while also concealing the lower tummy area. Find a garter belt that is adjustable and offers maximum coverage and you might be surprised at how much more comfortable you’ll feel in front of the camera!
High Waisted Panty
High waisted panties or briefs are trendy, incredibly flattering, and much more forgiving than your typical lingerie panty. Choose a rise that contours to your shape from mid to ultra high — bonus points if the fabric functions like shapewear! These are a boudoir studio favorite at Bella Jade Boudoir.

Even still, I can totally get behind wanting to add a little something extra to your session that says
“this is so, me”
when you look back on your images.
Not everyone is all about racy lingerie, garters, and stilettoes. While I fully encourage stepping a little bit outside of your comfort zone and incorporating outfits that challenge you to reveal your more seductive side, I also find it important to stay true to yourself through that process.
If you’re stepping out to do a sexy photo shoot but also find that simple, fun, flirtatious and cozy looks are more your style — try adding a sweater or cardigan to your boudoir wardrobe.

Using a sweater for your Bella Jade Boudoir Session | Best Boudoir Photographer in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Gilbert, Arizona
It just feels good! Wrapping up in a soft sweater is comfortable. It feels like home and gives you something to cozy up in and hold on to that can ease your nerves.
Sweaters and cardigans can be layered, making it an easy “yes” for boudoir photo shoots. Whether it’s added over a bra and panty set or taken off within a series of images, it is a great piece for adding variety to your outfits without going overboard with outfit changes!
It photographs so well! If you want your images to be playfully suggestive yet not too revealing this is a great choice! We can style it in ways that will show off your best assets while still covering some of the parts of you that you’d rather conceal or deemphasize.
For this Scottsdale boudoir session, we chose to layer a grey cardigan over top of her black bra and panty set. In these boudoir photos she wanted to be able to show off her best features, feel incredibly sexy, but also appeal to her every day persona — an easy going, energetic, down to earth, and more of a girl most likely to be spotted in gym clothes, with no make up on kind of babe!
Honoring her natural beauty was a MUST. This boudoir outfit allowed her to step out without compromising her true self. Here we were able to capture her true personality in her images. For that, she really got to shine in her boudoir photos and I wouldn’t want it any other way!

And, while today isn’t technically the first day of fall it finally feels like it. Temp high in Phoenix Arizona today is 67 degrees and this Michigan girl living in Gilbert, AZ is ready to talk sweater weather — regardless if the leaves here have changed or not!
So, what should you wear for a fall inspired boudoir shoot?
I am sharing my two personal fave Fall boudoir outfit ideas that you’re going to fall in love with right now (pun intended).
Starting with you guessed it cozy sweaters!
The Cozy Autumn Sweater
Nothing says its Autumn than a cozy sweater. Consider this the something comfy to your fall boudoir wardrobe. Its comfortable, flirty, and when styled right incredibly sexy!
Quick Tips for How to style It:
Light weight sweaters that are a bit oversized work best. (Not too bulky but still form fitting)
Remember sweaters can get a bit toasty — a light and soft material is ideal. NO WOOL. You can thank me later ;)
Business in the front party in the back sweaters are the BEST for your fall boudoir wardrobe. (think — plunging backs, V backs, or backs that are twisted/knotted)
V neck sweaters are great if you’d like a little cleavage, want to show off your collar bones or have a chest tattoo!
Wear it over the shoulder so that your bra strap peaks through for a more flirty feel.
Spice things up …
Layer in full glam lingerie - garter belt, stockings, and stilettos!

Simple Lace Garter Belt @ Belle Lacet

The Football Jersey
It’s football season! And, even if you’re not an avid football fan, this outfit idea is so much fun for Fall especially if this is also a gift for him! Grab a tailgate t-shirt or snag his favorite Football jersey then add it to your boudoir wardrobe as your something themed! You wont regret this one!
Quick Tips for How to style It:
Jerseys in general are boxy — tie a knot in the front or back to make it more form fitting.
Opting for the tailgate t-shirt? Cropped tailgate t-shirts are great for showing a little bit more skin than a Jersey can.
Not ready to bare it all? A classic t-shirt look can be much more forgiving and super sexy when paired with cheeky panties.
Spice things up …
Throw it on top of your body like a sheet for an implied nude look.

What inspired you to pursue a boudoir session?
I've dreamed of a boudoir session since I was in my 20's. Being in my 50's has been my best life yet. What better way to celebrate than to celebrate Me!
Why did you choose The Bella Jade Collection for your boudoir experience?
A friend had invited me to the Bella Jade Collection Facebook page. Once I saw the incredible photos, I was hooked! My savings account began that day!
Do you consider yourself a confident person or more of a work in progress? Did this experience change the way you see yourself?
My confidence has always been good. Now, my shoulders are back even more, my head is higher and my self esteem...well I'm smiling more than ever when I look at myself in the mirror!
Did you have any fears going into this? Were you able to overcome them? Anything you wish you would have done differently?
Fears were only my nerves. I only overcame them through the help of Christina. She is incredibly relaxing, she reassured me through every moment. Only thing I would have done differently is I would have gotten more into it, let myself go a little more. I would have been more of who my husband sees so it would have shown in more pictures.
What was your favorite part about your boudoir experience?
The reveal. Seeing the video. Seeing, and hearing, my husband's reactions to each photo.
Do you have any advice for someone considering their own boudoir photo shoot?
Trust in the process. You're incredibly beautiful, feel it! Take suggestions and do what you also know works for you.
