Just because I thought I was pretty or looked good a certain way, doesn't mean I think everyone thinks that of me. I went through a huge weight loss and few life events that motivated me to do any and every little thing I have ever wanted to do. All of these events have made me really appreciate my mind and body. And I have always wanted to do a boudoir session so I thought now rather than later is the best time!

By looking at reviews and her styling, I could tell that Christina was different. She didn't have every girl in the same red lipstick with zhuzhed up hair. Everyone just looked so happy and natural - that was exactly what I wanted.

I had no fears until I literally pulled up. I suddenly felt like I couldn't do this or I would make a fool of myself if I showed the picture to anyone. But then I calmed myself down and just said that I made the appointment and drove here so just do it. Luckily I did because it was the best experience EVER. Everything went great, maybe I wish I looked at a few more outfit ideas because now I am always in awe of other gals' outfits in pictures!
What was your favorite part about your Scottsdale boudoir experience?
Although I loved the whole experience of taking the pictures, the day I was able to come in and see them first-hand was incredible. As I said, I feel like I am confident, but when I got to see the pictures printed out and in front of me, I got teary-eyed because I really did THAT. I really look like THAT. It was a beautiful moment for me and I really needed that.
Do you have any advice for someone considering their own boudoir photo shoot?
Make sure you plan your few outfits well in advance and be confident about the choices, don't overthink the idea of someone posing you/taking pics of you kind of nearly naked (because it literally doesn't phase her), hype yourself up with a badass playlist, and just know that no one can have a say about your pictures because they are for YOU because YOU love YOU!

What inspired you to pursue a Scottsdale boudoir session?
I chose to do a boudoir shoot because I had a friend who had done it and I loved how her photos came out. Then as I read into it I saw the confidence and beauty it gave the women and knew I wanted to end 2020 on a positive note.

I Googled a lot of different photographers in the Phoenix area but The Bella Jade Collection stood out because the models in the photos were real women with natural beauty versus the cookie-cutter expectations.

I've always considered myself a confident person but I hide behind the camera and don't enjoy the way I'm photographed. After this experience, it opened my eyes to how beautiful my body is and the confidence I can have wearing what I want.
Did you have any fears going into this? Were you able to overcome them?
I feared that I wouldn't vibe with my photographer or open up as much as I could, but during the photoshoot, I felt at ease and knew it was a safe place to let it all out. I do wish I would have brought some drinks or something to loosen up my nerves so I could be more fluid.
What was your favorite part about your Scottsdale boudoir experience?
My favorite part was the makeover and all the positive energy of being told I rock an outfit and that the choices I brought were fun and playful. I never felt like what I had going was too risky.
Do you have any advice for someone considering their own boudoir photo shoot?
I would say just go for it. I'm all about living in the moment and doing what you want/what makes you happy. If you think it's a good idea then do it. Don't question other people. Just go and schedule it and come into it with the confidence you have when you feel your best.

I follow a lot of women on Instagram who have had it done and seeing them as confident and sexy made me want to feel that way about myself.

I chose The Bella Jade Collection because I love the feel of her pictures. Sometimes boudoir pictures online all look like they're from the same set of filters. Christina's looked natural without the heavy filters.

I'm definitely a work in progress for my confidence. The experience showed me that no matter our size we can still look sexy as hell!
Did you have any fears going into this? Were you able to overcome them?
I was worried that I would take all these pictures and then at the end hate them all. I mean how many times have I had my husband take a picture only to hate and make sure it never saw the light of day. But when I went to see my images I loved them all! And the thing I wish I would've done differently? DO NOT SPRAY TAN! If it's a new thing or place don't experiment. I ended up with some weird lines but thank goodness for Christina!
What was your favorite part about your Scottsdale boudoir experience?
My favorite part was how much fun it was. There wasn't this pressure to feel like some sexy Victoria Secret model. We laughed, we listened to my favorite music, and made some sexy photos during!
Do you have any advice for someone considering their own boudoir photo shoot?
Do it! Everyone says that's their advice but it's so true. Buy the sexy lingerie or just wear the soft blanket and see the pictures and know it was SO worth it.

“MOM” Jeans/Shorts
Go ahead and wear the mom jeans! Just another sexy alternative that can already be found in your every day closet. Jeans are great paired with a bustier, crop tops, or a cute bralette. Sign up for a time slot at our Christmas mini session event here.
You will be the only woman photographed during your time slot!
Booking back to back with a friend is encouraged! You’ll have the option to purchase one additional same day time slot as a gift (subject to availability)!
2.
At booking you’ll be prompted to submit a non refundable deposit equal to 100% of the final package cost. This is required to reserve your date as well as an executed photography agreement.

Show up to your session with your hair already professional done. Do have a naked face. You’ll be greeted by one of our lovely make up artists. They will be available to pamper you with a mini makeover perfect for the occasion -
this includes make up application and false lashes.
*Again, you must arrive with hair already professionally styled! Time is not permitted for hair done in studio (There are plenty of salon options nearby, feel free to reach out for recommendations).
4.
Come prepared with one themed outfit! This could be anything from festive colored lingerie, a cozy sweater and stockings, to a Santa baby suit. Time is not allotted for multiple outfit changes.
But, Christina can I bring in props :) ?
If you would like to bring in a simple item that can be worn like a Santa hat or held during posing like a candy cane, that’s ok.
Please do not bring any elaborate props as these are likely to intrude on your time and take away from all of the beauty that is YOU. Besides, the studio will already be decorated for you!

After we are done shooting, hang tight. We will do a brief unedited digital viewing for you to select your final photos. Any album upgrades must be purchased at booking or on the day of your session. All payments are due on or before the day of your shoot.

All orders for mini sessions will be delivered directly to you approximately 2 weeks after your session. Just in time for holiday gifting! If you would prefer to pick up your order in person, please let us know in advance!

Originally scheduled the shoot as a couples shoot and my fiancé wasn’t available so I said “Why Not?” And made the most of it. Now I know how much fun I had I am even more excited to reschedule my couples shoot with my fiancé!

I have always been very self conscious of my body. My butts too flat, my stomach too flabby, my boobs too small. The minute I walked into my shoot I was so comfortable! If you would have ever told me I would be doing topless photos in my underwear I would have never believed it!
Did you have any fears going into this? Were you able to overcome them?
Oh of course! The simple feelings we all have “what if my fiancé doesn’t find them sexy?” “What if I look horrible?” “how do you be sexy???” But they bring it out of you! I don’t know how these girls do it! But they do!
What was your favorite part about your boudoir experience?
Ummmm every single second of it! Laughing and chatting with what felt like friends while getting my hair and make up done, laughing at how awkward I can be, feeling sexy every time Christina would yell “yaaaaassss” and I knew we got a good one!, the hours of debating between pictures because I loved them all and Christina put up with me so patiently and helping me narrow it down. I’m talking hours!
Do you have any advice for someone considering their own boudoir photo shoot?
Do it! Just do it! Don’t overthink it! Don’t second guess yourself! Just do it! You won’t regret it!

To Eat or Not To Eat on The Day of Your Boudoir Photo Shoot | Boudoir Photography in Phoenix, Gilbert, Mesa
Eating day of! I'm sure lots of girls are worried about how'll they'll look day of their boudoir photo shoot. Phoenix, Gilbert boudoir photographer shares tips on what to eat if you are worried about how eating might effect how you look in your boudoir photos - including foods that can help reduce unwanted bloating.
To eat or not to eat?
Before we get too serious and I come off as a total food snob. HA! I just wanted to share this absolutely adsorbs photo taken back when Bella Jade Boudoir was located in Phoenix. We followed NO RULES and this shot was totally taken on the fly! But, I love it! Don’t you?
Ok, now let’s talk food and boudoir. Shall we?
Eating day of!
I'm sure lots of girls are worried about how'll they'll look day of - I know this because I literally just copy and pasted that statement from a member of our boudoir group!
And, the choice or question of what to eat or not eat prior to or during your boudoir shoot comes up time and time again.
I’ts a great question to ask, because I know the pressure to look thin and toned for your session is real! Honestly, even the most confident of confident full figured and fabulous models want to look healthy for their photos. Notice the word healthy? Its important!
I want you to look and feel good before during and after your shoot as much as you do. But, there is a fine line between fasting, dieting, and food deprivation. But that line can start to seem awfully blurry when it comes to having your photo taken especially if you are having your photos taken in lingerie! I GET IT, babe. I really do.
But —
Starving your body of the necessary ENERGY you need to SHOW UP is not the way. Neither is that last minute nervous trip to Jack in the Box to eat away your nerves the night before. Not that I’ve never done it before but all seriousness…
No one benefits from you feeling guilty for eating too much or too little before your boudoir session. Not you, not me, not your body, and not even your photos.
What I’m saying is —

Do Eat!
Food is fuel not your enemy. You just have to choose the Right foods. Yes?
My best advice for anyone worried about how eating might effect how they look in their photos — choose clean eating.
Whole fruits and vegetables, nuts, dried fruit, yogurts, and lean meats are a great place to start.
Do you tend to feel bloated after eating? Is it that time of the month? No worries,
here are some foods you can eat the day of your shoot that can help reduce bloating but also keep you fueled and feeling your best:
Lettuce
Strawberries
Bananas
Avocado
Green Tea
Ok Green tea is not a food but it leads me to the next preparation tip!
Do DRINK…
Lots of water. It seems like a given but is often overlooked. And, its so so important to stay hydrated. This is Arizona, after all.
Of course, I know everyone is different and there are plenty more tips and foods that would be an excellent source of fuel for your boudoir shoot. I encourage you to use your own best judgment and look at other resources to find food choices that work best for you!

Fears were only my nerves. I only overcame them through the help of Christina. She is incredibly relaxing, she reassured me through every moment. To learn to love and appreciate my body after a double mastectomy, multiple surgeries and complications which results in multiple scars and no reconstruction.

Work in progress. When I saw these photos, I felt like I was able to appreciate how my husband and others see my body.

Definitely. I was worried I wouldn’t look like myself, I wouldn’t feel comfortable, I would still feel I look disfigured. I would have played my specific music, but Christina found a good mix of music that fit me.
What was your favorite part about your boudoir experience?
Seeing the final product.

Do it! Take the chance and be amazed at what your body is capable of.

Yes, however, professional hair and make up is ONLY included with our regular packages. Since this is a mini session event, hair and make-up requires an additional investment of $150. Must be added at time of booking, additional time will be added on to your session for this service.

Are you still feeling a little nervous?
That’s, totally OK. You are doing something that may be a little outside of your comfort zone, and feeling a little nervous is normal.
For you, we’ve put together some frequently asked questions that should put your mind at ease. And get you feeling more comfortable about booking a boudoir session with us!
— Will I be sharing the studio with other ladies? —
No, our studio is located in my private residence in Gilbert, Arizona. The space is exclusive for clients of The Bella Jade Collection. Unless, you choose to book back to back sessions with a friend for support, your time slot is reserved just for you!
— Do I need to know how to pose? —
Absolutely not. Most of our clients have never done a boudoir shoot before, and do not expect you to come in with rehearsed poses. We specialize in boudoir for the every woman. Your boudoir photographer will provide you with as much photo shoot coaching and posing direction that you need to ensure that you look and feel amazing.
— Should i wait until i lose a few extra pounds? —
We certainly want you to treat your body with love and care, so if a boudoir session motivates you to work on a health or wellness goal, by all means be good to your body! But, the numbers on a scale should never be the reason you put off booking a shoot like this! A boudoir session is about getting to know yourself, celebrating your sexy, and feeling empowered to love yourself more just as you are. I am telling you with confidence, that you do not NEED to lose weight in order to look great in your boudoir photos. In fact, a lot of women have walked away from their boudoir experience with us feeling a lot better about how they see themselves. We hear all of the time that the confidence received from our boudoir sessions has had life-changing impacts on how women talk to themselves and continue on their self love journey even outside our studio.
— Will I need to bring my own outfit? —
Yes, we want you to wear something that you are comfortable in and that will make you feel sexy wearing it! We’ve found that letting you shop for your own outfits and try them on in advance is ideal for an intimate shoot like this. But if you need help with what to wear we are happy to offer some guidance. PLUS, when you book during our mini session event you’ll be receiving a FREE $50 gift card to Belle Lacet Lingerie in Chandler, which includes a professional fitting by one of their experts! Just let them know we sent you and they will ensure you find the perfect fit for your boudoir session with us!
