Miss C. had always wanted to do a boudoir shoot. Like a lot of women, the thought of doing a shoot like this was outside of her comfort zone - something that took an act of courage to finally commit and show up all in!

Her journey led her to Bella Jade Boudoir in Scottsdale after the birth of her first baby. She expressed a desire to feel beautiful again. A desire to carve out some “me” time to acknowledge everything she has overcome leading up to this moment, her accomplishments, and embrace this current stage of her life.

For her, a boudoir shoot was something she could do for herself that would help her recognize her strengths, celebrate her wins, and reconnect with her body in a way that was reserved just for her.

After her shoot we reached out to interview her about her boudoir experience and she shared with us how she got here, her fears, what it felt like, and her own first hand advise for anyone considering doing a boudoir shoot of their own!

Miss M. came to us wanting to celebrate her recent accomplishments. Her Scottsdale boudoir photo shoot was a 30th birthday gift to herself and she explains that it was everything she would expect from what she considers to be the best boudoir photographer in the Phoenix area. She says “I drove an hour and fifteen minutes out of my way just to work with the BEST and I definitely picked the right woman for the job!”

After her shoot we reached out to interview her about her boudoir experience and she shared with us what it was like for her from start to finish — including why she chose to do a shoot like this with Bella Jade, what her fears were going into it, how she overcame them, and some really great advice for anyone else who may be putting off booking their very own shoot.

What inspired you to pursue a Scottsdale boudoir session?

My first thought was for my husband's 50th birthday. I wanted to give him something he would never forget and something completely out of the usual. After booking and in anticipation of the shoot, I realized I was doing this for me. I have had self-image issues as many of us do, and I wanted to show myself my body is my own and damn sexy. I also wanted to prove to myself I could do something like this. I am so glad I made the move to do this.

Miss M. had been in our VIP group for over a year. She was recommended by someone who's done two shoots with us. She's wanted to do a shoot like this for a while and needed to build up the courage to go for it. Well — She won our Giveaway in February and was met head on by some of her fears. A new season in her life that was filled with uncertainty but unapologetic love for herself and her body. She embraced it. As it provided her relief that sometimes doing the best we can do really is enough. Her session and time with us was so beautiful as is she.

For a hot second she had me fooled. Going into it she was a little self conscious. She worried that she wouldn’t know how to pose and that she would look awkward in her boudoir photos. But as long as she trusted me, I wasn’t worried. She was going into this for all of the right reasons. She was ready in that its about time what are we waiting for kind of way. She needed this and I knew she was going to nail it!

What I didn’t know was that she was going to be tossing hair, laughing, and feeling herself before the warm up even barely started! And, I’ll take that kind of energy any day!
